Pick up safety

I cannot emphasise enough about the importance of keeping the children safe. Because we value the opportunity for parents to bring your children directly to their key teacher – this places the safety responsibility also with you – see the attached letter and share this with anyone who picks up or drops off. Please do not let any visitors into York Road Nursery .

Early Years Foundation Stage

York Road Nursery School receives Early Years Pupil Premium money for some pupils. We provide this information to every new Parent and Carer and meet with individual Parents who feel that their child may be eligible. The funding that is allocated to York Road Nursery School is targeted to support those individual children and to enhance the provision and resources that they have access to every day.

Records are kept of those children who are eligible to ensure that the funding is used carefully to support their needs, interests and development. Assessments are made to monitor their progress.

Forest School

Forest School sessions  run every Wednesday in a wooded area at Hitchin Boys School.  Each term you will be provided with information as to which week your child will be attending.  We go out whatever the weather so please remember to dress your child appropriately – long trousers, long sleeved t-shirt, waterproofs and warm clothing in the winter.

Weekly Clubs

We also offer dance and art clubs in the Spring and Summer terms, there will be a small fee for these.
